one man and his mangalitza
you can take the girl out of glasgow but...
the story so far !
gregor and laura were married on sat 18th oct 2008 ! unbelievably they are still married !
They were surprised to find their dyslexic best man misread the wedding list and instead of a toaster he saw the words as "mangalitza pig"
this is the story of one man and his pig
bought as a piglet in sept 08 , greggs ( laura named him!) happily ran around his home in Quarryhead Creatureworld in Mintlaw , near aberdeen ,lovingly cared for by Chel http://www.quarryheadcreatureworld.co.uk/
gregor and laura then had to make the hard choice , do we keep him or does he get the chop!
the fact the lounge had recently been carpeted made the choice so much easier.
Greggs rest his soul copped his whack on 31march , and we picked him up a week later
if you are fortunate to be given a bit of Greggs , treat him well and please post your results here-

About the Breed
Mangalitza pigs are a large framed, dark-skinned, curly coated pig that originate from Austira/Hungary. They are an extremely hardy breed, rarely becoming ill and capable of surviving the harsh winters of the region in which they were farmed. Useful qualities in areas where there were no vets or animal hospitals.
The meat produced from Mangalitza’s was once in great demand all over Europe and even traded on the Vienna Stock Exchange. At its peak a hundred thousand animals a year were sold from Hungary to the West. Mangalitza’s are renowned for producing high quality bacon, the original Hungarian salami sausage and parma ham.
and far more practical than a toaster !
